What are the steps to becoming a licensed real estate salesperson?

Pennsylvania
Delaware
New Jersey

Pennsylvania

Step 1

Successfully complete 30 hours of Real Estate Fundamentals and 30 hours of Real Estate Practice through a reputable and licensed real estate school.

Step 2

Submit application, application fee and required documentation to PSI licensure certification. PSI will issue an Examination Eligibility postcard if all the requirements have been met.

Step 3

Schedule the salesperson examination with PSI either online, in person or on the phone. For more information, visit the PSI website.

Step 4

Once you have passed your Sales Associate examination, contact us to start the affiliation process with Coldwell Banker Preferred, part of NRT LLC, the number 1 residential real estate broker in the U.S. as named by REAL Trends 500.

Delaware

Step 1

Complete an accredited 99 hour pre-licensing course.

Step 2

Take and pass the two-part standardized salesperson licensing examination.

Step 3

Submit application, successful  completion of exam and other required documentation to the Delaware Real Estate Commission.

New Jersey

Step 1

Successfully complete 75 hour salesperson course at a licensed school and upon successful completion of the course receive a “Certificate of Completion” to register to take a state licensing exam. Applicant must be 18 years of age and have a high school education or equivalency.

Step 2

Schedule and register online through PSI to take the NJ Real Estate salesperson state examination. For more information, visit the PSI website.

Step 3
